Maintaining your new showerscreen, mirror or splashback

Regular care and maintenance will ensure a lifetime of good looks and exceptional performance.

A Regency shower screen, mirror or splashback has been designed and tested to provide you with years of exceptional performance. To help keep your your new Regency purchase in sparkling condition and to maintain your product warranty, here are some important care and maintenance points for you to follow:

Screens, Mirrors & Spashback Care & Maintenance Instructions

Cleaning showerscreen glass

To clean, apply a reputable, ammonia-free glass cleaner or methylated spirits to the glass.  Wipe in a circular motion with a clean non-abrasive lint-free cloth.  Polish the surface with a clean lint-free cloth.

Shower screen glass should be cleaned weekly at a minimum, to remove soap stains which will etch and mark the glass if left uncleaned. A plastic squeegee is useful in removing water to prevent water stains on glass. Frames and hardware should be cleaned at the same time. Diamond rings or jewellery should not be worn when cleaning shower screen glass.

Cleaning mirrors

To clean apply a reputable ammonia-free mirror glass cleaner or methylated spirits to a clean lint-free cloth, and wipe in a circular motion. Polish with a clean non-abrasive, lint-free cloth.

Moisture, water and liquid cleaners should be kept away from the back edge of mirrors. Dry any residue immediately otherwise the warranty may be voided.  Adequate ventilation is important.

Cleaning powdercoated & anodised alumiunium frames

Shower screen frames should be wiped over with a soft damp cloth. Occasional use of a mild detergent and water solution may be necessary to shift stubborn dirt.

Under NO circumstances use solvents or harsh detergents, bleaches, scourers or any other abrasive cleaner.

Frameless shower screen hardware adjustments & maintenance

Check the hinges at six-monthly intervals to make sure that the “hinge to glass clamp” screws are tight and the hinges operate freely.  A couple of spots of sewing machine oil is recommended on metal hinges.

Check that there is a minimum clearance of 2.5mm between the vertical edge of the frameless glass door and the fixed glass panel.  A helpful reference is to use a 10c coin which is 1.7mm thick or a 20c coin which is 2.3mm thick.

Check that the screws clamping the hinges and the screws clamping the fixing clip to the floor and or the wall are tight.

Where there is less than 2mm clearance it increases the risk of glass to glass contact which may result in glass breakage.  For this reason where there is less than 2.0mm clearance, please contact your nearest Sales office to arrange for a service call to correct the clearance.

Aqua Series sliding shower screen adjustments & maintenance

The sliding doors are top hung allowing access to the roller clamp/adjustment. However, if the doors are not operating correctly, please contact your nearest Sales office to arrange for a service call to correct the issue.

Framed shower screen adjustments & maintenance

Check that the screws/rivets fixing the head and sill pivot blocks are tight and that the screws on the pivot clamp are tight on the door. If not, please contact your nearest Sales office to arrange for a service call to correct the issue.

Aqua Series Inline & Overlap shower screen adjustments & maintenance

Check that there is a minimum of 2mm clearance between the vertical edge of the door and the fixed glass. If there is inadequate clearance check that the screws clamping the pivot blocks fixed to the head and sill are tight and the screws clamping the pivot to the pivoting glass are tight.

Adjust where possible to achieve the 2mm clearance between the pivot door glass and the fixed glass panel.  If this cannot be adjusted please contact your nearest Sales Office to arrange for a service person to make the necessary adjustments.

Where water leaks appear on the floor or wall outside the shower screen, in the course of normal use, contact your nearest Sales Office to arrange for a service person to inspect and advise what action is required.
